At OLP School we have a large and successful Early Learning Program. We have a Preschool Program and a Pre-K Program, with 52 children participating. These little ones are busy learning and playing, and developing in wonderful young persons.
Our ELP Director, Mrs. Dolly Hinze-Kinney, along with her staff, has been working hard to prepare for accreditation through MnAEYC, Minnesota Association for the Education of Young Children. The preparation began last year, and we are awaiting the accreditation visit this month of October. An accreditation application requires a rigorous quality improvement process, assuring that policies are in place, and all safety requirements are met as well as educational instruction. A representative from MnAEYC will come to observe and review all aspects of our program to assure that they meet standards associated with the provision of high quality care and education.
Families who choose accredited programs benefit from knowing that their children are in high quality care - it provides a "seal of approval" that helps parents select the finest early childhood programs. As an accredited program, we also benefit from additional resources, networking, training sessions, etc. which will continue to make our program stronger. We welcome the accreditation visit and we expect to meet all the requirements for a full accreditation.
