PROSPECTIVE FAMILIES

Our Lady of Peace Catholic School is building a foundation for life in its students through excellent academics, faith, service, leadership and community.  Our small class sizes allow teachers to know each child and personalize their learning.  We provide a learning space where each child can develop the gifts and talents given to them by God.

  • Our curriculum is focused both on meeting and exceeding the academic standards set by the Minnesota Department of Education. Our teachers use innovative methods to teach those standards, while making each day exciting and fostering a love of learning in each child.
  • Our faith is at the heart of everything we do and teach. Our community works collaboratively with parents to instill a love of Christ within each child. Students develop their faith through daily religion class, weekly school Mass, sacramental preparation, retreats and service projects.
  • Beyond the classroom, students can engage with our community through before & after care, various extracurricular athletic teams, band, drama clubs and more.

KINDERGARTEN SHADOW OPPORTUNITIES

All prospective kindergarten students for the 2022-2023 school year are invited to spend a day in our kindergarten classroom getting to know our teacher and other students.

Call the school office at 612-823-8253 to set up a visit.

We will connect you virtually with our Kindergarten staff if you are interested in a shadow day during the remainder of the 2022-23 school year.

THE AMBASSADOR FAMILY PROGRAM

We know that entering a new school can be both exciting and stressful.  We would like to help new families to Our Lady of Peace School through this transition and into the year ahead.

The Ambassador Family Program pairs up families with children entering Our Lady of Peace k-8 School for the first time with existing (ambassador) families. The ambassador family has one or more children currently in OLP and will be available to answer questions to help the families along their journey.

The “Ambassador Family”

  • Contacts the family a week or two before school to welcome them.  Make sure they know how to drop off the first day, talk about activities at Our Lady of Peace such as what occurs during Catholic School Week and answer questions again.
  • Will be available throughout the upcoming school year to answer any questions new families may have.

Additionally, the new families receive a letter over the summer describing some of the school activities and some helpful ideas about entering Our Lady of Peace School.
