First grade is a year full of learning and growth accompanied by excitement and fun. Students are engaged in standards-based curriculum across all subject areas while individual learning styles and needs are reached through differentiated instruction. Every year it is a true joy to see how much first graders grow and progress, especially in the areas of reading and writing. Along with the core subject areas, our PeaceBuilders curriculum strives to create a peaceful, productive and safe place for all members of the OLP community. First grade is a year where independence, social skills and responsibility are stressed and foundations are set for upcoming years at Our Lady of Peace.
