It’s that time of year again for the annual OLP Marathon! Don’t sweat it, we aren’t asking our students to run 26.2 miles, rather, we are challenging them to each raise $100 by Friday, 10/7.
Unlike most schools, Our Lady of Peace uses 100% of the funds raised from our Marathon toward student enrichment activities (such as field trips, concerts, or other educational experiences). Our goal is to provide these experiences in the current school year.
Marathon Day is a celebration in itself, with a hot dog lunch provided outside for all students, served by Mr. Berry & Mrs. Schneeman. All students will be allowed to be out of uniform if they wear Our Lady of Peace spirit wear (t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.). Middle schoolers will walk around Lake Nokomis, Elementary students will walk to Pearl Park and ELP students will walk to Triangle Park.
Of course, what would a fundraiser be without incentives? Any student who reaches their goal of $100 will win a chance to dunk Mr. Berry in the dunk tank. Any student who raises $50 will receive an out-of-uniform pass. Any class that reaches 100% participation (meaning every student raises at least $1) will earn an extra recess. And finally, the class that raises the highest total will win a pizza party lunch!
